About
This blog is mainly a photoblog that I use to keep the family informed of what’s going on with the remotely located Macumbers in Kentucky. It started-out as an experiment with WordPress on LAMP using a reconstituted server I scrounged-up. It has been enjoyable to work with the Ubuntu distribution and keeping packages up to date is a breeze with apt-get. I had not used Ubuntu before and was surprised at how easy it was to work with.
WordPress has been a joy to work with as well.
I usually spend more time dorking with the photos (getting them off the camera, resizing them, picking which ones to put on the blog posts, etc) than I do with the sysadmin chores or with writing any of the posts.
I am trying to get Melissa (Momma) to start writing some of the posts and I will handle the sysadmin duties and getting the photos up on the server for her. We’ll see if she gets interested in it. Right now everyone seems to be pretty wrapped-up in other things.

Mark, this is the first time I clicked on ABOUT (about the blog)…DUH!
I really don’t think that I am prejudiced about the fact that your family blog is wonderful – in every way!!! It is a treasure.
