This May has been an action-packed month. We started off with the Kentucky Derby falling on the 3rd this year. We went across the street to the Downings for a Derby party and had a good time. I ate enough to feed three people. The kids had a good time too. They made Derby hats and played with the dogs and ran around outside.
The following weekend was Mother’s Day weekend. Suzanne came to visit and that allowed Melissa and I to go out for dinner on the Saturday before Mother’s Day. Suzanne and the kids had fun with sidewalk chalk in the driveway while we were gone. Unfortunately I had to fly out to San Jose on Mother’s Day and was gone for the week. The kids had fun with Mom while I was gone.
This last week has been busy as well. James turned 11 on Wednesday and Stella turned 2 on Thursday. We went out to eat both nights and both James and Stella received some great presents. James has been playing Super Mario Kart since his birthday and Stella is pretty smitten with a bubble lawn mower and a Tella-Tubby she got. Melissa made a neat cake for Stella but James wanted a strawberry-cheesecake Blizzard Dairy Queen ice-cream cake.
So now it is Memorial Day weekend. This month has blown by. We have had the prettiest and mildest Spring season I have ever experienced. I would guess the average temperature all month has been in the 60′s. With gas prices being so high and with the great weather, it has been easy to fit-in lots of riding. I have been trying to ride the BMW into work as much as possible and only been taking the car when the meeting requires “appropriate” dress.
We are taking the kids to my buddy’s house tomorrow and they are going swimming, sliding with his kids. I know the three oldest are ready for summer vacation and ready for swimming-pool season. I am not sure what we are going to do with them this summer but I am planning on getting us all down to Florida and go to Disney World for Fall Break. The rest of the May photos are here.
